Halibut fishing in the Gulf of Alaska from May through August.

Steve Thurneau, is a USCG licensed captain, with many years of experience fishing halibut out of Valdez, Alaska.
The boat is a 2005 30' aluminum boat with stand up head,
outfitted with twin 225hp 4 stroke outboards with 30 knot cruise.
Harvester is a six pack charter boat docked in slip E31 directly below the Valdez Harbormaster's office.

Caught aboard the Harvester July17th, 2007. Second place winner in the Valdez Halibut Derby.
At 328 pounds, this 88" halibut won $5,000 for Rob Rachow.

Caught aboard the Harvester August 5th, 2006. First place winner in the Valdez Halibut Derby.
At 343.6 pounds, this 90" halibut won $15,000 for Kevin Lincoln of North Pole, Alaska.
This is the largest halibut ever caught sport fishing in Valdez, Alaska.

Second place derby winner at 266.6 pounds. This fish was 80" long.

General Information

2009 prices

12 hour Gulf of Alaska Halibut fishing trip 6:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Prices......$280 per head is our base price......However, if gas goes to $4.00 per gallon-charter price is $290 per head...Gas $4.50 per gallon-charter price is $300 per head and so on. Deposit to reserve the charter at the time of booking is $100 per head. The balance will be charged according to the fuel price on the day of the charter. If you use a credit card for your deposit and cancel for any reason at any time, a 10% fee will be charged. If you cancel within 14 days of departure date, you forfeit your deposit unless we can fill the seat(s). We accept Visa/Mastercard, cash, checks. All bait, tackle, and fish filleting included.
(This is a no smoking charter). Due to the fact that we fish exclusively in the Gulf where the water tends to be rougher, we don't take children under the age of 13.

Make sure you bring rain gear and rubber boots, a lunch and something to drink, no hard liquor, small amount of beer ok.
We sell derby tickets on board. Be sure to have your fishing license. Please arrive at 6:00 a.m.

The Harvester's cockpit is 10' long. It has ample room for six anglers.	Lingcod can be kept starting July 1st.

A great day of fishing. A nice variety of rock fish, ling and halibut.

A rarely caught fish. This 5'6" Wolfeel was the only one we caught in 2007.
